How to get started with the CDAP grant application process

To get started, please have these items ready: 

1. Only one of the following documents:

  • BC Registry Services, 
  • Notice of Articles,
  • Statement of account for current source deductions - PD7A.
  • Corporation notice of assessment.
  • GST/HST return notice of assessment

2. GST/HST Number

3. Federal Business Number

Information that you will need to provide in the application form

PAGE 1️⃣

  1. Indicate how you're applying (We recommend selecting "I am the business OWNER" or "I am the business OWNER and would like to appoint a Secondary Contact"-- this is if you are not the owner but would like to apply on the owner's behalf. Do NOT select the "I am an Employee option".

  2. Owner First Name, Owner Last Name, Owner Email Address, Phone Number

  3. If you selected the Secondary Contact option: First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Company Name, Phone Number

  1. Business information: Legal Business Name, Operating Name, Years in business, Number of employees

  2. Industry & NAICS Code (a drop-down list will be provided)

  6. Supporting documentation only one of the following documents is needed. 

    1. BC Registry Services: Notice of Articles

    2. Statement of account for current source deductions - PD7A (Statement of account for current source deductions) (last 12 months)

    3. Corporation notice of assessment (Corporation income tax assessment)

    4. GST/HST return notice of assessment (Notice of assessment for goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST)

  7. Confirm your annual revenue in the last 12 months of operations or since incorporation/registration for businesses that have been in operation for under a year: select all that apply (note that if you don't have any employees (other than the owner), then you need to be able to show a revenue over $30,000 in the last tax year or since starting the business)

  1. Digital Assessment: List your company's Online Presence URL links (website and social media) Your current digital marketing or online advertising: Check all that apply (Google, Facebook ads etc.)

  2. How did you hear about this program?  Select option that applies in your case. 

  3. Program Proposal: Our e-commerce upgrade to our website will be a chatbot to help us better communicate with our clients and customers. We want a 360° virtual tour to allow our customers to experience our business on everything they use online.

You can typically expect to hear back within 25 business days. Please make sure to set a reminder to check your email at this time. If you don't
respond to any requests for more information, they will close your file after 5 days, and you will need to re-apply.

Eligible Businesses ✅

To be eligible, your business needs to be a for-profit business (including for-profit social enterprises and co-operatives).

  • Is a registered or incorporated business
  • Is a consumer-facing business.
  • Can be accessed by consumers or provides in-person services to consumers.
  • Have at least one employee (other than the owner) OR have had at least $30,000 in annual revenue in the most recent tax year
  • Must commit to maintaining digital adoption strategy for six months after participation in the program.
  • Must consent to participating in follow-up surveys, sharing information with the Government of Canada (ISED and Statistics Canada), and having the name of the business published as a recipient of funding.

Businesses that are not eligible 🔴

  • Corporate chains, franchises or registered charities
  • Representatives of multi-level marketing companies
  • Real estate brokerages
